Ymke (“Im-kuh”) is a full-papered imported in utero Ster mare.
The daughter of imported Ster mare, Elma and by the Approved Studbook Stallion Monte 378 Sport. Ymke is classified as a main studbook Ster mare, her full sister who was retained by the stud in Holland is also a Ster mare.
Ymke has the most beautiful stallion-like looks and amazing movement, she is simply breathtaking, the suspension, uphill frame, engagement, balance and rhythm, she is a divine picture to watch. Ymke has a beautiful front, her head is elegant, her poll is long, and her neck arched, she is correct throughout her conformation.
Ymke KP was awarded WA STATE CHAMPION FRIESIAN at the 2009, 2011 and 2013 ANZFHS Keuring.
Judges were impressed by this stunning girl, saying she possesses many of the desirable characteristics of the ideal Modern Friesian horse. Even with a foal at foot at the time of judging in 2011 Ymke still showed beauty and splendour true to type. I am elated with the feedback and a very proud breeder of this beautiful girl!
Ymke’s first foal (Isabeau KP) by Omer RS was awarded a very high 2nd premium and only 0.5 point shy of 1st premium. Isabeau KP was also awarded “Best Australian Bred Friesian in WA”. She grew into a fine young mare and as a 4 year old became Ster with a 2nd premium and the NSW State Champion for 2015. She now holds this title for 2017 as well as successfully completing the IBOP with 77 points.
Ymke has now produced 6 fillies in a row, 4 have been judged as foals and 2 received 1st premiums, and 2 received 2nd premiums. Of those, the filly Visharli KP who gained a 1st Premium was also awarded “Best Australian Bred for 2015, Another, So Special KP was awarded 2015 WA Reserve State Champion with a 1st Premium.
Ymke is such a super special mare. Three times in a row awarded State Champion of the Keuring, an event held only every second year with international judges from the KFPS studbook, at each visit, a different team of judges, and in 2011 Ymke also had a filly foal on her and still, she is judged the Champion of the WA Keuring consecutively. So for over 6 years, this mare has been unbeaten by any other friesian horse in the state. Such a massive accomplishment for any horse, and Ymke, also done it with a foal at foot. She is, one in a million, a true beauty. so I feel this mare has nothing left to prove and she is now retired from showing and forms part of the stud’s breeding program.
